Crusaders for Life Host "In Their Shoes" Kickball Tournament

_RJE5685On Wednesday, Brother Martin’s Crusaders for Life club hosted the first annual “In Their Shoes” Kickball Tournament. This year, the tournament benefited Woman’s New Life Center and will benefit a different Respect-Life organization each following year. Students had the opportunity to play tailgate games, listen to music (DJ’d by Harrison Trepainger ’15), and eat burgers cooked by our very own Coach Benedetto ’77.

High School students from around the Archdiocese: Mount Carmel Academy, Ursuline Academy and Jesuit High School came to partake in a fun game of kickball supporting God’s gift of Life! Jesuit High School ended up beating Brother Martin 1-0 in the Championship round of the tournament.

Multiple organizations throughout the state volunteered at this event: Alex Seghers, Youth programs Co-Director at Louisiana Right to Life along with Caroline Sholl, Development Coordinator at Woman’s New Life Center, and Natasia Kissinger, Founder/President of Choose the Child.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first “In Their Shoes” kickball tournament at Brother Martin! A very special thank you to Knights of Columbus Rummel Council #5747 out of St. Bernard Parish for sponsoring the entire event.
