This month, the Crusaders for Life and Justice welcomed almost 100 students from ten different local high schools for a NOLA Pro-Life Movie Night in the Brother Mark Thornton Terrace. Inspired by their time on last year's March for Life Pilgrimage, the pro-life club leaders of Brother Martin, Chapelle, Dominican, Jesuit, Mount Carmel, Rummel, and Sacred Heart sought to bring students together for a night of education, fun, and fellowship. The event began with two brief talks from Ms. Shelly Melton, Development Director at Woman's New Life Clinic, and Ms. Ashley Gilliam, Youth Programs Director of Louisiana Right to Life, who shared some insights on their experiences in the pro-life movement. The Culinary Crusaders then served up jambalaya, sweets, and popcorn during a showing of the movie Wonder. While admission was free for all students, the event collected diapers, wipes, and over $300 in cash donations for the Woman's New Life Clinic. Overall, the night's success was a testament to our local Catholic teens' commitment to defending the dignity of all human life from womb to tomb.
