Crusaders Fall to Vandebilt Catholic in Semifinals

Coach Himbert with his Crusader bowling team.

The Crusaders looked to claim a third straight state bowling title today as they competed in the state semifinals against Vandebilt Catholic of Houma. The bowling match was held at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge.  In 2016, the Crusaders defeated the undefeated Lafayette High 21-6 in the semifinals. Later, they advanced to the finals facing Vandebilt Catholic while clinching a win by a score of 17-10. Can the Crusaders win it … again?

On Friday, the Crusaders’ winning streak was broken by Vandebilt Catholic of Houma. Coach Himbert and the Crusaders were defeated in the semifinals by a score of 20.5-6.5. Huner Dunn bowled a 581 series, Jonathan Fernandez bowled a 561 series and Will Oertling finished with 559 series.
