Brother Martin got off to a fast start against John Curtis Tuesday night in the Conlin Gym.
The Crusaders started out gaining a 9-0 lead with Venjie Wallis scoring the game’s first points on a layup. Jordan Cornish scored five points of his own during the run.
Curtis drained a pair of 3-pointers and scored again on an offensive rebound to cut into the Crusader lead. Brother Martin lead 17-14 after one quarter of play and had the lead throughout the second quarter to finish the half with a 32-31 lead.
Curtis started the second half hot going on a 13-2 run that gave the Patriots a 47-37 lead.
The Crusaders hit clutch 3-pointers in the second half to try and trim the deficit, but time eventually ran out for Brother Martin.
Brother Martin (15-5) begins district play on Friday against Holy Cross in the Conlin Gym.
