Crusaders Fall Short to Hornets in Semifinals

dsc_0592The Crusaders traveled to take on the Scotlandville Hornets in a Division I semifinal matchup on Friday night. Unfortunately, the Hornets were able to edge out a 18 – 16 victory over the Crusaders in Baton Rouge. Late in the game with a chance to tie, Bruce Jordan-Swilling was stopped just short of the goal line on a two-point conversion. He had just scored a touchdown the previous play and finished the night with 96 yards on 21 carries. Quarterback John-Paul “JP” Pierce led the passing attack with 132 yards and connected with receiver Pattre’en Hughes for a 45 yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Congratulations to the Crusaders on an exciting 2016 football season! Thank you to our players, coaches, and fans for their dedication to the Crusader football program this season!
