Corey Gaconi allowed just one run on Monday at John Ryan, but the Crusaders (17-3, 1-1) couldn’t get the offense going in a 1-0 defeat to Jesuit.
The lone run of the game for Jesuit crossed the plate in the fourth inning on an RBI triple.
Greg Deichmann launched a two-out bomb to center field in the top of the fifth that would have given the Crusaders the lead, but the elements kept the ball in play with the Jesuit center fielder making a catch at the wall.
Gaconi baffled Jesuit, striking out six batters. He allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks over six innings.
The Crusaders are back in action tonight against Rummel at Kirsch-Rooney. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm.
