Crusaders Defeat Shaw in 1st Round of CYO Tournament

The Brother Martin Crusaders were victorious against Shaw 74-39 on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.  Pat Hughes ‘17 led the team scoring 18 points in the game and the Crusaders led 34-21 at the half. Brother Martin paved their way leading in the third quarter, scoring 24 points. Crusaders played an aggressive game, racking up 22 fouls during play. With six points, Pattre’en Hughes saw his best shooting performance in the third period.

Tré Swilling ‘17 (16 points) and Tyler Epps ‘18 (10 points) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Irvin Smith, Jr. ’16 went into double digits, scoring 13 points for Brother Martin (4-for-6). In addition,  helping the effort for the Crusaders consisted of Samer Mosrie ’18 (six points), Peyton Aucoin ‘16 (four points), Tyler Lally ’18 (three points), Jason Stant ‘18 (two points), and Blake Zamjahn ‘17 (two points). Brother Martin ended the game with 41 rebounds (13 offensive and 28 defensive).

Brother Martin plays against St. Augustine Purple Knights in the 2nd round tonight in the Robert M. Conlin Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
