Crusaders Defeat the Eagles, 41-0

dsc_0069-2The Crusaders (6-3, 3-2) defeated the Archbishop Shaw Eagles by a score of 41-0 at Hoss Memtsas Stadium on Saturday, October 29. All six of the Crusader touchdowns came in the first half. Quarterback John-Paul “JP” Pierce threw for 81 yards and one touchdown to receiver Pattre’en Hughes. Pierce also rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown. Running back Bruce Jordan-Swilling led the rushing attack with 96 yards and scored two touchdowns. Running back Chris Smith and Quarterback Joshua Payne-Morgan capped off the first half scoring by each scoring rushing touchdowns. The Crusader defense turned in another strong performance by limiting the Eagles to 24 total yards. With the game firmly in hand at halftime, the Crusaders elected to play most of their reserves in the second half, allowing the underclassmen to gain some valuable game time experience.

The Crusaders will celebrate Senior Night on Friday, November 4, 2016 against the Jesuit Blue Jays. The game begins at 7 p.m. at Zephyr Stadium.
