Crusaders Compete in the Big Easy Lacrosse Classic

DSC_0508 copyCongratulations to the Rogue Lacrosse Summer teams, which were led by students of Brother Martin, for a very successful play in the Big Easy Lacrosse 2016 Classic. The classic was played at Pelican Park in Mandeville this past weekend. The varsity team made it all the way to the semi-finals, losing to EC Lighting 0-4; and the Rogue U15 team won their Division Final with a big win over the Texas Legacy U15.

In the first game Rogue beat Red Stick 7-3, and then went on to beat the Houston Cougars 10-2. The third game was a tough lost for varsity losing to the Texas Legacy Lacrosse by 10-4.  Crusaders scoring throughout the tournament were Noah Velez ’18 scoring 8 goals with two assists, Connor McCoy ’18 scoring two goals with four assists, Jonathan Code ’18 scoring two goals with four assists, and goalie Jack Rau ’18 with 22 saves.

The second day of tournament resulted in two big wins for Rogue Lacrosse U15 beating the Red River Lacrosse 4-2 in the semi-finals and then beating the Texas Legacy Lacrosse 5-2 in the finals to win the Big Easy Classic U15 Division.   Congratulations to Christopher Stassi ‘19, Hank Castro ‘19, Jake Bodino ‘19, Drew Dodd ‘20, Elliott Martinez ‘20, Luke Rau ‘20, and Alex & Ethan Rupp ’20 on leading the U15 Division to the Championship.
