Crusaders Close Dual Season With a Win; Set Sights on State Champiohship

Brother Martin went into the last dual meet of the year at Chalmette looking to improve on a 21-1 dual record and set a postive tone for state next week. “Wow” is the only word to come to mind after a night of great wrestling as Brother Martin walked out having won by a score of 82-0.

The night started off with the team honoring 2 of their seniors who were likely wrestling their last matches for the Crusaders: Thomas Ridgley and Jeremy Henderson. These young men have shown what it means to be part of a team with the motto of “One Team, One Dream”. Thomas (106) and Jeremy (120) went out and got quick pins and the whole team gave them standing ovations, and the team went on to gather 9 pins, 4 forfeits, and a major decision to account for the win.

Individual results were:

The team will be back at work preparing for the state tournament February 11-12.  The JV finishes the year with a tournament at Chalmette on Saturday, and a number of JH wrestlers will be competing in the state JH meet at Brusly on Saturday. The young Crusaders have worked hard all year, and these experiences will prepare them for continuing the winning tradition as they move up in competition levels.
