Jesuit was unable to fight back from the big hole it dug itself into against the Crusaders (24-3; 6-1) and lost 4-3 after falling behind by four runs in the fifth inning.
Brother Martin took the lead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Owen Magee, and never looked back. The Crusaders would get another run in the bottom of the second to add to their lead.
Jesuit would finally get on the scoreboard in the fifth inning, but the Crusaders answered back with two runs of their own to make the score 4-1, scoring on an RBI triple by Gregory Deichmann and an RBI single by Owen Magee.
Jesuit scored two runs in the sixth but couldn’t draw even. After a scoreless top of the 7th for the Blue Jays, the game resulted in a 4-3 score in favor of the Crusaders.
Andrew Boucvalt went 3-3 for the Crusaders singling in the second, fourth, and fifth innings.
Corey Gaconi’s six strikeouts helped lead the Crusaders to the victory coming up with huge outs in important situations. Gaconi allowed no earned runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings.
