We, as a Brother Martin community, celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning. Fr. Tony Rigoli, pastor at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, presided at the Mass and has celebrated this feast day with us at Brother Martin for the past two years. Fr. Tony reminded us all that Mary answered God’s call, despite her fears, much like Fr. Andre Coindre “discerned God’s call to form the Institute of the Brothers of Sacred Heart.” We, too, as members of the Brother Martin community, are challenged this Advent to have “the COURAGE AND CONFIDENCE to yes to God.”
The Chorus and the Band were outstanding as always. Antonio Domino ‘17, Cody Elsensohn ‘18 and Trey Andrews ‘17 sang a spectacular rendition of “Mary, Did You Know.” Members of the football team served in the Mass: Patrick Willis, ‘17 cross bearer; Reed Kern ‘17 and Rod Thornton ‘17 acolytes; Sam Walters ‘17, Dylan Walker ‘17, Mark Gittelson ‘17 and Andre Roevens ‘17 offertory; Alex Hassinger ‘17 and Daryl Anderson ‘17 readers; Justin Levy ‘17 introduction; and Brandon Hebert ‘17 and Tre’ Swilling ‘17 petitions.
