Crusaders Capture Second Win over Blue Jays

IMG_6122The Crusaders returned home to the Conlin Gymnasium on Friday night for a district showdown with the Jesuit Blue Jays. The Crusaders controlled the court the entire game and won convincingly 65-43. At the end of the first quarter, Brother Martin lead 20-11 and extended that lead to 33-18 by halftime. In the third quarter, the Crusaders built a 25 point lead and led 51-26. Irv Smith ’16 led all scorers with 20 points while Tré Swilling ’17 chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. The victory over the Blue Jays was the second of the season as the Crusaders won 59-54 in the CYO Tournament. With the victory, the Crusaders improve to 10-11 overall and 2-3 in district play.

The Crusaders travel to Holy Cross for a district match-up with the Holy Cross Tigers on Tuesday, January 26th. Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.  Go, Crusaders!
