Brother Martin sealed the victory by capturing first place in five events over the weekend at St. Paul’s School in Covington. The Crusaders claimed the title with 132.5 team points outscoring Rummel who finished second with 117 points. Host St. Paul’s was third with 112 points.
Brother Martin’s Morgan Cormier led the charge, winning both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. He posted a time of 14.39 in the 110-meter competition and a time of 40.43 in the 300-meter race. Cormier also led the Crusaders to another first-place finish by anchoring the 1,600-meter relay victory.
The Crusaders also performed well in the field events. Ryan Hoefield of Brother Martin won the shot put with a toss of 46 feet, 2.75 inches while Alex Migliore of the Crusaders took home first in the javelin with a throw of 144 feet, 7 inches. Jonathan Ramsey was second in the High Jump, third in the Triple Jump and third in the Long Jump events.
Morgan Cormier was named meet MVP for Track, and Jonthan Ramsey was named meet MVP for Field.
