Last weekend, the Crusader wrestling team captured a first place victory in the Louisiana Classic in Baton Rouge. The Crusaders were ready to bounce back from their loss to the Jesuit Blue Jays and that is exactly what they did. They surpassed over 45 teams while eleven wrestlers placed in the top four of their individual weight classes. Daniel Varnado (108), Daniel Croy (115) and Patrick Evans (147) finished as tournament champions. Luke Cotton (122) finished in second place. In addition, Lane Boudreaux (128), Steven Shields (134), Ben Wisniewski (138) and Mack Brown (222) took third. Seth Alfonso (154), Paul Elmer (162) and Nathaniel Perdue (184) came up fourth.
The team will wrestle at Brother Martin on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 against Hahnville and De La Salle for 6:30 p.m.
