Crusader Football is Back Wednesday in Scrimmage v. Covington

IMG_5805The Brother Martin Crusaders take to the field Wednesday night in a pre-season scrimmage game against Covington High School, a chance to put into practice the squad’s guiding tenets: Team, Tough, Compete, Finish.

“That’s our program’s goals,” said Head Football Coach Mark Bonis. “We want to build depth at our offensive and defensive line.  We want to establish a good rotation at our running back position. And with only one returner in the secondary, we want to see continued improvement in the defensive back end.”

Bonis said the squad has been working hard all summer, and that with the departure of some notable seniors, the team is starting fresh. “It’s a brand new team,” Bonis said.

He’s been pushing the Crusaders to stay focused, and to remember that whether it’s practice, a meeting or a game, the goal of the program is “to be the best football team we can be.”

The scrimmage game starts at 5:30 p.m. at Lakeshore High School, 26301 LA-1088 in Mandeville. Come join us and support Crusader football!
