Crusader Lacrosse Advances to State Semi-finals

IMG_0026Congratulations to the Crusader Varsity Lacrosse team for their 11-6 victory over the Byrd Yellow Jackets this past weekend in the State Quarterfinals. Leading the team on offense was Nicolas Benedetto with four goals, and Noah Velez and Lee Davis with two goals each. The defense was led by Garrett Frey, Jackson Schneider, Kerby Stieffel, Matthew Coscino, and Nicolas Benedetto combining for nine take-aways and three interceptions.  Goalie Holden Savoie held the Yellow Jackets to six goals with 14 saves.

The win propels our team to the state semifinals; they face Loyola College Prep of Shreveport this Saturday, April 23rd, at 1 p.m. at Joe Yenni Stadium on the campus of East Jefferson High School. A win Saturday would place them in the finals, against the winner of the Jesuit-St. Paul’s game.

The championship game is Sunday, April 24th at 2 p.m. at Joe Yenni Stadium.

Go Crusader Lacrosse!
