Brother Martin (10-2) played Chalmette in the second round of the Valero/Chalmette Christmas Classic Friday night. After taking an early lead, the Crusaders continued to play tough which help secure a 64-41 victory.
The Crusaders will play Higgins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the tournament championship.
Wrestling
After the first day of competition at the 12 Annual Trey Culotta Invitational, the Crusaders are leading the pack in the team standings with a first to total of 310 points, followed by Vestavia Hills (Ala.) with 265, Cushing (Okla.) (222.5), Jesuit (211), Rummel (171), and East Ascension (164.5).
Soccer
The Brother Martin soccer team is competing in the Louisiana Showcase Tournament over the weekend. The Crusaders have successfully completed bracket play with the following wins:
BM 2 – St. Louis 1
BM 3 – Alexandria 0
BM 6 – St. Thomas More 0
Brother Martin will play Teurlings Catholic in the semi final match.
