The Cross Country team ran in the Catholic High Invitational and the Country Day Classic this weekend. The Junior High runners that participated in the Country Day Classic had a great race with many outstanding performances, including Top 10 finishes by Tyler Thompson, Michael Wilson and Andrew Jeffries. Almost all of our Jr. High runners in Baton Rouge set a personal best time at the Catholic High Invitational, including 8th grader Hayden Courrege’ who broke the 8th grade two-mile cross country school record with a time of 10:59 to win the prestigious meet at Catholic High. The previous record of 11:16, held by Steven Erath ’95, stood for over 20 years.

The Varsity struggled at Catholic High and tied St. Paul’s for a second place finish. The team dominated the Open Division event and would have won had the race been team scored. Avery Provenzano won the overall race in a time of 17:25.

The team will host the Jack Schommer Invitational this Saturday at City Park.
