Congratulations to the Varsity soccer team for their 3-0 win over Ben Franklin yesterday on Farley Field. Leading the way for the Crusaders with 2 goals was Mark Mangum and John Fourcade with one. The Crusaders had two early shots on goal, but play settled down after that as the teams battled for possession. In the 31st minute, Mark Mangum beat the keeper low and to the left off a nice assist from Peter Brooks. Brooks found Mangum again connecting on a header which gave the Crusaders a 2-0 lead. John Fourcade headed home the final goal for the Crusaders off an assist from Cristian Canales.
Congratulations also to the Junior Varsity soccer team for their 2 – 0 victory over Newman. Scoring for the Crusaders were Michael Schumacher and Bobby Tomlinson. Great job Crusader soccer!
