Crusader Soccer Celebrates 2018 Convocation

DSC_0024The Athletic Department hosted a convocation honoring the Crusader soccer program. Coaches Stephen McAnespie (varsity), Josey Portillo (junior varsity), Nathaniel Peters (ninth grade) and Carlos Martinez (eighth grade) spoke on behalf of their respective teams, highlighting team accomplishments at the convocation.

During the season, the Crusaders made it all the way to the quarterfinal round but were outscored by St. Paul’s 1-0. That was their 11th quarterfinal appearance in the past 13 seasons. Soccer head coach Stephen McAnespie also concluded the evening by recognizing varsity players receiving individual awards.

Captains Award: Blake Robbins ‘18, Brandon Robbins ‘18, Ryan Simoneaux ‘18 and Zachary Stolberg ‘19

Players’ Choice Award:  Colin Ward ‘18

Dedication and Commitment Award – Joseph Aguda ‘18

Most Valuable Player:  Zachary Stolberg ‘19
