David Judd has a passion for reading and volunteering. He founded and serves as president of the Brother Martin Bibliomaniacs Book Club, as well as editor-in-chief of The Pen and the Sword literary magazine. He is also highly involved in the Speech and Debate club – though he finds his book club the most rewarding. In an article published in St. Charles Magazine, Judd tells the readers the most rewarding part of starting the Bibliomaniacs is knowing that he provided someone the opportunity to fall in love with books. He also discusses his involvement at Catholic Charities as a camp counselor and at Second Harvest Food Back.
