Congratulations to Crusader Lacrosse for defeating Jesuit yesterday during the second round of playoffs with a final score of 6-2! Making school history, this victory is the first win over Jesuit High School for our Varsity Lacrosse team and also marks our first South District Championship title.
Information taken from LHSLL article:
"Brother Martin won the defensive battle highlighted by excellent play from Senior Goalie and All-State Candidate Jake Bodino's 22 saves. On the offensive side of the ball, Chris Stassi scored 3 goals to help propel the Crusaders to victory.
From Head Coach Greg Anderson- 'Today's game was a special one for our team. We went into this season focused on getting back to the final four and are excited to be there. This game was one of the most complete games we've had in years. Jesuit is such a disciplined and well-coached team we knew it would take a special effort to win and our guys showed up ready to perform. This is our first south district championship and I couldn't be prouder of the work our team has been putting in. Now it's back to work to get ready for next weekend, we're all looking forward to getting onto the turf in Lafayette and a great weekend of competition.'"
The victory advances the team to the Lacrosse Final Four at St. Thomas More in Lafayette. The Crusaders will take on Catholic High at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th. Good luck Crusader Lacrosse!
