The Brother Martin Crusader football team had an incredible victory Saturday night at Tad Gormley Stadium.  The Special Teams seemed to be the key to the victory over the St. Augustine Purple Knights. Michael McCarthy kicked a school-record five field goals and also had three touchbacks. The Crusaders started off the game with a kickoff return for a touchdown by Brice Johnston. A turnover by the Purple Knights lead to another Crusader touchdown. Going into the half, the game got interesting with St. Augustine scoring two touchdowns, narrowing the deficit to 23-16. The Crusaders came out strong in the second half with good defense, a good running game and some really good kicking. Brother Martin scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter on a run by John West, sealing the victory for the Crusaders.  The next game for the Crusaders is Friday, Sept. 16th. at Central Lafourche at 7pm.
