This week, while students were enjoying extra Mardi Gras holidays, the Brother Martin faculty and staff gathered at school to begin their Crusader Pilgrimage. They were divided into groups of five and given specific assignments throughout the city. They had to explore places associated with various vocations: religious ministry, community service, teaching and coaching, healing, the arts, and public service. Each team had to tweet a picture from six different locations; all faculty and staff followed the journeys of the other groups via Twitter. At the end of the day, everyone gathered in the James B. Branton Chapel for sharing their day’s experiences. The goal of the pilgrimage was to heighten awareness of vocations in our community, create camaraderie among our faculty and staff, and increase awareness of the effectiveness of social media.
