In a battle of the undefeated, Brother Martin defeated Jesuit at Colonial Bowling Lanes on Thursday afternoon by a score of 18-9.
The Crusaders started cold, but finished the opening set with a 7-1 lead. In the second set, Bother Martin won four of the six games, losing the other two by a total of only six points; holding on to a 13-3 lead.
Austin Bouligny hit seven strikes in a row to open his game in the first set, and picked up the spare in the eighth frame. Bouligny finished out the set with strikes to tally a 278 game, a match-high.
Crusader seniors Jeff Fernandez, who bowled a 236 and a 209 in the first two sets, and Ryan Henderson who had a strong series of 226, 216, and 248, also helped lead the way to victory. Brother Martin won the final total pin count 3,714-3,412.
The Brother Martin bowlers will finish their regular season on Thursday, March 20th when they face Bonnabel at All Star Lanes in Kenner. The match is set to start for 3:30 pm.
