Crusader Basketball Team Begins Season with a Dominating Victory!

Brother Martin's basketball program began the season with a statement on Wednesday night. "Defense!" This year's emphasis, according to Coach Chris Biehl, is being stellar on defense. In its season-opener against McDonogh 35, the Crusaders granted their coach his wish. After the first half, the Crusaders had held McDonogh 35 to just four points, and Brother Martin held a 37 to 4 halftime lead. Then, the Crusaders came out on top by a score of 58-23 taking the win over McDonogh 35.

"Holding any high school team to just four points in 16 minutes is incredible. I am very proud of how we attacked their offense tonight," said Biehl..

The Crusaders were led by Junior Grant Delord's 24 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Captain TJ Small added 17 points in the game.

Next, the Crusaders (1 - 0) will face Livingston Collegiate Academy at 4:30 p.m. today in the second round of the Grace King Tournament.
