Brother Martin Basketball emerged victorious 68-57 against John Curtis Christian on Tuesday on the strength of T.J. Small '20, who scored 16 points. Varsity clinched their lead in the third quarter on a two-pointer from Javier Perez '29.
Crusaders fell behind early, trailing 28-27 by the half, only to come back strong in the final two quarters. The team solidified their lead with a late-game surge, scoring a game-high 26 points in the final quarter on the strength of a 12-3 run.
Small was the leader of Brother Martin's offense with 16 points, including 10 during the first period. He also contributed four rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Victor Tomlinson '19 hit double digits, scoring 12 points for Brother Martin (4-for-5). Also chipping in for Brother Martin were Perez (7 points, 1 rebound, 3 steals), Peter Schneller '19 (5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block), Grant DeLord '21 (5 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal), Brock Ranlett '21 (2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal), and Dillon Delatte '19 (2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block).
Brother Martin finished the game with 26 rebounds (6 offensive / 20 defensive), four blocks and eight steals.
