Last night, the Crusaders took on the fourth seeded West Monroe Rebels in the State Quarterfinals. Brother Martin started off strong and jumped out to a 21 point first half lead. The Rebels started the third quarter on a 9-0 run. The Crusaders charged back with a basket by Jalen Gray, followed by a Jabbar Singleton 3 pointer and a dunk by Denzel Flemings, which brought life back to the Crusaders. Going into the fourth quarter, the Crusaders led 43-32. West Monroe closed the gap to five points, but a three point play from Jordan Cornish helped secure the victory. With this win, the Crusaders have knocked off the 12th, 5th, and 4th seeds.
Brother Martin will play Scotlandville on Saturday, March 3rd in Hammond. Tipoff is set for 4:30 pm.
