Crusader Baseball Players Chosen for 2022 All-District Team

Congratulations to the following Crusaders for being chosen for All-District play:

Alex Laiche ‘22 - Pitcher of the Year
Alex Laiche was voted best pitcher by all the coaches in the Catholic League. All year, he has performed tremendously on behalf of the Crusaders, picking up seven crucial wins, four of which were against district opponents. Alex struck out 47 batters in league matchups, walking only 10. In Laiche’s 32 innings pitched, he has an ERA of just 2.625. Alex is expected to continue his stellar performance into the playoffs.
Walker Bazile ‘22- Hitter of the Year
Walker Bazile was voted the top hitter in District 9-5A this season. Walker batted an impressive .459 on the season, with a district batting average of .351. Against District opponents, Walker racked up 16 hits, driving in 8 runs, scoring himself 13 times. A key baserunner for the Crusaders, Bazile stole bases nine times within 9-5A and successfully bunted in key situations. Walker will undoubtedly continue his impressive senior season into the playoffs.

Bryce Gauthier ’22 - Outfielder
Bryce Gauthier was one of two Crusaders voted as outfielders to the Catholic League All-District Team. Bryce made impressive plays in the outfield, throwing three runners out at the plate from right field. Gauthier has also been a key performer at the plate, batting .310 within District 9-5A. Bryce will be so important to this Crusader Baseball Team’s playoff success. 

Andrew Sieta ‘23- Infielder
Andrew Sieta has been recognized as an All-District player for his spectacular performance at shortstop. Within the Catholic League, Andrew has been one of the best infielders, with a fielding percentage of 85%. The junior shortstop has also been an important aspect of this team’s offense, batting .390 and driving in 9 runs in Catholic League play. 
Eli Booth ‘23 - Outfielder
Junior Eli Booth was among other Crusaders selected as an All-District performer. Eli has been recognized for his skills in the outfield as well as at the plate. Batting .351 in District, Eli has racked up 13 important hits, allowing for 9 runs to score. His athletic ability has allowed him to spend some of his playing time at first base. Nonetheless, Booth will continue to hit the ball well for this Crusader offense going into the postseason.
Be sure to come out to Kirsch-Rooney Stadium tonight and tomorrow evening (May 4th and 5th) at 6:30 PM in support of our baseball team as they take on St. Augustine in the playoffs!
