Cross Country Takes Home Regional Championship

img_4226Congratulations to the cross country program for its victory at the Region III-5A Championship on Friday, November 4, 2016 in City Park. Hunter Appleton ’19 won the individual title with his three-mile time of 15 minutes, 34 seconds. He was also featured in The New Orleans Advocate for qualifying for the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Cross Country State Championship.

Hayden Courregé ’18 finished second, Benjamin Crowley finished fourth, and Tyler Epps ’18 finished in tenth place overall to lead the Crusaders. Cade Litolff ’19, Marco Perez ’18, and Reid Kern ’17 finished in the Top 20 to complete the scoring.

This victory officially qualifies the team for the state championships, along with 23 other teams across the state. The team competes for the title on Tuesday, November 15, at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Race time is scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
