The Crusader junior high team appears to be peaking at just the right time as they earned a perfect score of 15 points in the Governor’s Games last Saturday. Ethan Dupas ’20 has been racing extremely well in the last few weeks, and he won his first race this weekend. Teammates Abe Bernstein ‘20, Gabe Costa ’20, Merritt Pecoraro ’20, and Bryce Davey ’21 finished in 2nd-5th place solidifying the title. Joseph Lee ’20, Victor Garcia ’21, and Gary Sandrock ’21 also finished in the Top 10.
The Crusader varsity team finished as Runners-Up in the All State/Sugar Bowl Metro Championships behind top-ranked St. Paul’s. Hunter Appleton ‘19 and Hayden Courregé ’18 continued their excellent season, finishing in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Tyler Epps ‘18 and Cade Litolff ‘19 finished in the Top 20, earning All-Metro honors. Marco Perez ’18 rounded out the scoring for the Crusaders with his 21st place finish.
The program returns to action on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the Brother Martin Jack Schommer Invitational in City Park followed by our Family Day. The race is named in honor of the school’s first Cross Country coach. Go, Crusaders!
