Over the weekend, the Crusader Cross Country team participated in two invitationals. Some members of the team traveled to Baton Rouge to run in the Episcopal Round Table Run while others remained in New Orleans for the Mount Carmel Invitational. In Baton Rouge, the Jr. High finished second in a highly competitive meet with many of the best programs in the state in attendance. 8th grader Hayden Courrege’ finished second overall (only 11 seconds off our 8th grade school record) and 9th grader Andre’ Roevens finished 5th. The varsity finished 4th led by a great performance from Chace Edwards.
Our Jr. High won for the second week in a row at the Mt. Carmel Invitational. The Varsity was led by a runner up finish from Michael Maldonado, but we came up just short of a 2nd place team finish, losing a tie-breaker to Holy Cross 66-66. The JV competed well in its 2 mile race. All seven guys led us to the runner up spot in this race.
