Brother Martin’s soccer team (13-0) was led by junior Cristian Canales Wednesday afternoon. Canales scored twice for the Crusaders as Brother Martin controlled the ball for most of the match to earn a 3-1 win over Holy Cross at E.A. Farley Field.
The first goal came in the 16th minute as Canales made a nice move in the box and fired a shot past the keeper for a 1-0 lead. After plenty of chances, the half ended with the Crusaders leading 1-0.
Canales scored again in the 54th minute to take a 2-0 advantage, but the Tigers found the back of the net and cut the lead to 2-1 in the 64th minute. After a foul in the box, senior Peter Brooks scored the final goal on a penalty kick to finish the game at 3-1.
The undefeated Crusaders will host Archbishop Shaw on Saturday at 11:00 am on Farley Field.
