NEW ORLEANS – Crescent City Sports will live stream the District 9-5A basketball matchup between Brother Martin and Jesuit Friday night, January 29th.
Friday’s coverage on CrescentCitySports.com from Jesuit’s Benson Arena begins just prior to tipoff of the varsity game, which will follow the 5:30 p.m. junior varsity game. CCS’ Ken Trahan and Bill Gallagher '71 will describe the action.
The two teams are coming into the game off extraordinary circumstances.
Brother Martin (11-4) has not played since Jan. 7 and is opening Catholic League play after its first six league games were postponed for COVID-19 related issues.
Jesuit (14-7, 2-1), which returned to action last week for the first time in 20 days, stepped out of district Tuesday night and lost to Newman 78-74 in triple overtime. That came on the heels of league wins over St. Augustine and John Curtis Christian on consecutive nights last weekend.
Entering this week, Jesuit was fourth and Brother Martin seventh in the unofficial LHSAA Division I power ratings.
The Crescent City Sports team is in its 10th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced broadcasts of more than 300 live games since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2020-21. Additionally, in cooperation with Cox Sports Television, CCS will also produce additional events that will both be televised on CST and streamed on the site.
