The Brother Martin High School Class of 1998 celebrated their 20-year reunion on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Former classmates and guests met at ‘The Attic’ at Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant on Tchoupitoulas St. for a night of reminiscing about their high school days. The committee planning this reunion consisted of Matt Lambert, LJ Lesage, Michael Scaglione & Chris Stromboe, along with Director of Development Kenny Spellman ’84.
Great things were happening in the world, and at Brother Martin, when these Crusaders graduated! In 1998, the world showcased such moments as: the movie Saving Private Ryan, the introduction of the Euro, and Microsoft became the largest company in the world. Classmates could also reflect on some great local moments in Brother Martin history such as: the gym being named the Bob Conlin Gymnasium, the capturing of district titles in soccer and wrestling, and the year the Class of 1998 graduated! Committee member Chris Stromboe noted that “it was great reminiscing with my classmates of 1998. It brought back great memories of our time at Brother Martin and the foundation it provided us for our future.”
The night continued as many of the alumni and their guests enjoyed the delicious cuisine before and after Romaguera Photography captured a class photo. Classmates also hope to spend more time together being involved at Brother Martin. Thank you to the members of the Class of 1998 who attended the reunion!
