On Wednesday, May 19th, members of the Brother Martin Chorus program were happy to present their first public concert since the beginning of the pandemic. Family and friends filled the Conlin Gym to enjoy a diverse program of music representing various cultures and musical genres. Members of the fifth-period Chorus class opened the program with "Medieval Kyrie", and ended with a partner song arrangement of the spiritual "Shine on Me." Daniel Erdozain '23 and Kolbe Peters '23 performed their superior-rated solos from the LMEA Solo and Small Ensemble Assessment to great acclaim. The sixth-period Chorus class began their portion of the program with the stirring "The Last Words of David", and their final selection, "The Awakening", conveyed a most apt sentiment in its final lyric - "Let music live!" To conclude the concert, members of both groups joined together to sing "O Sacred Heart." Congratulations on a wonderful performance to close the year.
An additional congratulations to our Chorus for receiving straight superior ratings at this year's LMEA Large Ensemble Assessment!
