Chorus Earns Superior Ratings at LMEA Assessment

IMG_1673_newOn Wednesday, February 22, 2017, the following members of the Chorus participated in the 2017 Louisiana Music Educators Association Solo & Ensemble Assessment at Lusher Charter School: Trey Andrews ‘17, Andrew Butler ‘18, Brent Clement ‘17, Carl Davis ‘18, Antonio Domino ‘17, and Adam Strain ‘20.

These students performed their prepared solo and ensemble performances in front of a judge. Each performance was evaluated according to the following criteria: tone, intonation, diction, technique, interpretation, and musical effect. Each performance was then rated on a scale from I to V, with I representing a superior performance.

 

The following solo performances received a superior rating from the judge:

• “Go Down, Moses” – Trey Andrews
• “The Foggy Dew” – Andrew Butler
• “Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair” – Brent Clement
• “Rolling Down To Rio” – Carl Davis
• “Brother Will, Brother John” – Antonio Domino

The following solo performance received an excellent rating from the judge:

• “Loch Lomond” – Adam Strain

In addition, Trey Andrews, Andrew Butler, Brent Clement, and Antonio Domino received a superior rating for their ensemble performance of “Poor Wayfaring Stranger.”
