Celebrating St. Joseph's Day

IMG_9756Brother Martin displayed a St. Joseph’s Day Altar in the James B. Branton Chapel on campus. The altar was covered with cookies, cakes, breads and “lucky beans”, which are associated with St. Joseph because they sustained the Sicilians throughout famine.  Every year, this celebration offers New Orleans natives and visitors a chance to share food with others, and for believers, a way to express gratitude for any sort of fortune in their lives.  For supper, Brother Martin will hosted a spaghetti dinner in the Benson Mall for any visitors.

Thank you to everyone who helped set up the altar, to all of our cooks and servers, and to all of our sponsors!
