Builders’ Club Wraps Up the Year at City Park

IMG_2432The Builders’ Club, along with their moderator, Mr. Don Guidry finished up their service projects for this school year by engaging in service work at City Park on Saturday, May 14, 2016.  The tasks involved weeding and pruning a swampy catchment area which drains two-thirds of the Festival Grounds.  The landscape architect who designed the area lectured the volunteers about the importance of water management as an important part of flood control.  The work was sponsored by City Park’s Volunteer Center which hosts a monthly “Super Saturday” of service work.

The Builders’ Club is sponsored by the Third District Kiwanis Club. Its aim mirrors that of the Key Club. The club strives to develop leadership ability, Christian service, and good citizenship. Members provide services to the school and the community through work projects developed and carried out by the club.
