Brother Martin’s Ramon Ramos ’25 Sings in Advanced SATB Honor Choir

Last week, the Southern Region of the American Choral Directors Association held its biennial conference in Louisville, Kentucky. 1719 singers from the eleven member states of the Southern Region auditioned to participate in one of four honor choirs, with 944 singers selected. Each of the honor choirs rehearsed over a period of four days and performed a program under the direction of a guest conductor in Whitney Hall at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.

Brother Martin junior Ramon Ramos ‘25 was chosen to sing in the Advanced SATB honor choir. Under the direction of Haitian-American composer Sydney Guillaume, the choir performed a varied program that included two of Mr. Guillaume’s own compositions - This, Too, Shall Pass, and Tchaka.

Renowned composer and teacher Dr. Andrea Ramsey conducted the Youth Treble honor choir, and Mr. Kevin Caparotta ‘88 served as collaborative pianist for the ensemble.
