Over the past weekend, the LHSAA State Wrestling Tournament took over the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner with record breaking crowds. Brother Martin finished with 312.5 points ahead of the second place finishers Jesuit with 277 points to win its third straight state championship. This championship marks the 15th overall in school history and the 6th for Coach Robbie Dauterive ’84. The Crusaders had 8 wrestlers reach the finals and won 5 of the eight matches. Brother Martin finished the season with a record of 20-0 in dual meets and 6 1st place tournament finishes. Individual title winners were Steven Shields, 106 lb., Mason Mauro, 113 lb., Paul Klein, 132 lb., Austin Meyn, 138 lb., and Yehia Riles, 182lb.
Coming in third was Catholic High then Holy Cross and Rummel.
