We would like to congratulate the Brother Martin Track & Field team for a remarkable season and for their performance in 2026 LHSAA Track & Field State Championship. The Crusaders finished 3rd overall, scoring 40 points and equalling the highest ever team finish in a state meet.
The team was led by a record-breaking performance from Junior Easton Royal '27. Easton won both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes in spectacular fashion. Easton's time of 10.17 in the 100-meter dash set a new state record, besting a time that had stood for 46 years. Easton was named the Most Outstanding Performer for the 5A division. The 4 x 100-meter squad of senior Devin Kensel '26 and juniors Gaines Randol '27, Andrew Dyson '27, Pat Jones '27, Owen Moller '27, and Easton Royal '27 also placed first, making them the first sprint relay in school history to claim the state title. In the distance events, sophomore Daniel Bonilla '28 set a school record in the 1600-meter run on his way to a third-place finish and spot on the podium. Daniel's time of 4:16.46 breaks a school record that was set in 1977. In the 3200-meter run, senior Anders Maitrejean '26 finished 4th and secured valuable team points. Also running in the meet were the 4 x 800-meter relay squad of seniors Will Lionnnet '26 and Ian Acosta '26, junior Brayden Bulloch '27, and sophomore Carson Mills '28, who ran to a 7th place finish in the event.
Congratulations to our entire Track & Field program for their tremendous work this season!
