On Friday, September 20th, Brother Martin tennis team member Mitchell Armbruster '25 competed in the 2024 Southern Ozaki Junior Cup. This tournament features each participating state's top three boys and top three girls from various age divisions. Players are selected by their state USTA staff and represent their state in the competition.

Nine states comprise the Southern USTA Section: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi. The Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, was the site for this tournament, where matches were played over three days. This year, Team Louisiana faced opponents from North Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee and earned third place in the Silver Bracket.

Mitchell went 6 and 2 during the tournament, winning singles and doubles matches against Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. His two losses came against his singles opponent from North Carolina and against his doubles opponents also from North Carolina. Great work, Mitchell!
