After a 47-44 semifinal win over Jesuit, Brother Martin (3-2) fought a gritty battle against East St. John but fell 52-44 in the 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl CYO Basketball Classic Championship.
Brother Martin was led by senior guard Venjie Wallis and sophomore Bruce Jordan-Swilling, who totaled 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The team returns to action on Wednesday night at 5 P.M. as they take on Baker High School from Alabama in the first round of the Newman Invitational.
