On Tuesday, March 20th, four Brother Martin students (Saul Belloso, Jacob Kissee, Glynn Morere, and Raymond Price) accompanied by Ms. Marilyn Meyn, attended the 27th Annual CrimeStoppers Awards Luncheon. This luncheon, held at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside, honored those individuals in the greater community who have made a difference in the areas of law enforcement and criminal justice. CrimeStoppers is an independent non-profit organization that works with law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend criminals. The Brother Martin students, with about 45 other students from the metro area, serve as members of TAAC – Teen Ambassadors Against Crime. TAAC is a leadership program that helps students gain a better understanding of the criminal justice arena, including the role that students can and do play in community safety while understanding the effects of crime on victims and their families. Jacob Kissee has not only been a member of TAAC, but is now serving as a mentor in the program. We applaud these young men for taking the initiative to get involved with such a worthwhile program.
