The Brother Martin Crusader Mathletes traveled to Baton Rouge to compete in the Baton Rouge High Mu Alpha Theta Tournament this past weekend.
The Crusader Mathletes placed well in many events, and earned 4th place in Sweepstakes!
Although Brother Martin earned 4th Place in Sweepstakes, they were inches away from 3rd and even 2nd place.
Mu Alpha Theta moderator, Mr. Patrick McClain comments, "We were right there! One more point, and we would have had 3rd overall, and 3 more points would have earned us 2nd place overall. Make no mistake, the Crusaders who came out did a great job! But, earning Sweepstakes really is a Team Effort - Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus AB, and Calculus BC. When we bring 21 students to a Tournament and 20 of those students are in Algebra 2 through Calculus BC, I don't care how well those guys do, it's going to be hard to make up that ground in those lower levels."
The Crusader Mathletes will next be in action at the Louisiana Mu Alpha Theta State Convention in Baton Rouge March 30 - April 1.
Good luck Crusaders!
