The entire Brother Martin family mourns the loss of Claire H. LeBlanc, a long time faculty member who in her thirty-four years at Brother Martin served as a math teacher, academic games co-moderator, student council moderator, student activities director, a member of the Institutional Development Team, a development assistant, and special events director. She left us Sunday, August 16, 2015 after a heroic fight against lymphoma.
Claire began her teaching career at St. Mark’s and St. Catherine of Siena before joining the faculty at Brother Martin in 1981. In 2013, she was recognized by the Brother Martin Board of Directors as a Founders Medal recipient. In all of her interactions with students and colleagues she was welcoming, nurturing, and always professional. During the last 30 plus years, she was a constant presence at student pep-rallies, dances, proms, orientations, leadership celebrations, graduations, and faculty and alumni events. A natural born leader and teacher, Claire was exacting in the classroom, always expecting the best from each of her students and also her colleagues.
Claire is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bobby, her sons Mark ’90 and Michael ’90 (Jill), Brian ’92 (Heather), four granddaughters and a step-grandson. Please pray for the LeBlanc Family and the Brother Martin Community as we mourn her loss.
Services will held in the James B. Branton Chapel on the campus of Brother Martin High School on Saturday, August 22 with visitation from 10 a.m. until noon. A funeral Mass will begin at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Brother Martin High School, Attn. Mr. Tommy Mitchell, 4401 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70122.
Ametur Cor Jesu. Loved be the Heart of Jesus.
