On the morning of Thursday, February 26, 2026, Brother Martin High School celebrated a Social Justice Liturgy and afterward recognized this year’s Judy Stewart and Bro. Collin Dugas Justice Award recipients.

Director of Campus Ministry, Mr. Donnie Midkiff '03, presented this year's Judy Stewart and Bro. Collin Dugas Justice Awards:

"The first recipient of the Judy Stewart Social Justice Award lives a life marked by service, compassion, and a deep commitment to the dignity of every human person—especially those who are most vulnerable.

Without ever seeking recognition for himself, he models a life of dedicated service, authentic solidarity, and a passion for social justice that reflects a maturity well beyond his years. In word and action, he is a powerful witness to Christian discipleship and the Church’s call to serve the least among us. The first recipient of the Judy Stewart Social Justice Award is senior Jacob Gustin."

"The next recipient of the Judy Stewart Social Justice Award is a young man whose life is marked by consistent service and a commitment to the dignity of every person.

Through his words and actions, he demonstrates a quiet confidence in the pursuit of justice and a genuine desire to build a culture of life and compassion. He embodies the qualities of the Judy Stewart Social Justice Award through his faith, his advocacy, and his steadfast commitment to serving others. The recipient of the Judy Stewart Social Justice Award is senior Wyatt Hutchins."

"This year’s recipient of the Brother Collin Dugas, S.C. Social Justice Award has devoted much of his life to serving those in need, and more importantly, teaching our students to do the same.

When speaking about the recipient, one colleague said, “His time is not his. His time is always for others. He constantly gives all he has to those in need. Whether those in need are his students or those in need within the community. The recipient of this year's Brother Collin Dugas, S.C. Award is Mr. Matt Stevens."

We would like to congratulate and thank Jacob, Wyatt, and Mr. Stevens for modeling the virtue of justice for all of the Brother Martin community.
