"The Bridge Project is a geometry project that splits up a class into groups of four members all having different jobs with the final goal of constructing a bridge made of coffee stirrers and hot glue that could hold 30 pounds. Each group had members doing the following jobs: Project Manager, Accountant, Architect, and Builder. The Project Manager's job was to manage all of his other members as well as to write up a journal keeping track of the group's daily progress. The Accountant’s job was to keep track of money spent and to write checks for needed materials. The Architect’s job was to draw plans at the beginning of the project for how the bridge was set to look. The Architect also had to assist the Builder when he needed help. The Builder built the bridge by cutting sticks and gluing them together. The Builder also had to prepare the land that the bridge would be built on by drawing on water and grass where needed. This entire project took about 10 class days, from the start of planning to bridge testing. This project was very enjoyable for me and brought to light the thorough process needed for construction. This project also gave me the opportunity to get to know my classmates better and to interact with them in a different type of environment."
